First time we set foot in Baltimore, over 100 people showed up to this intimate venue/restuarant to see The White House Band, A Cool Stick and Kane Mayfield. Easily, most of the crowd came for local superstar Kane, and he really rocked the house. There seems to be an onslaught of awesomely great MC’s lately who also have great live shows. White House Band was next, and wowed the crowd with great guitar work and an awesome light show. Last but not least A Cool Stick hopped on and started a cypher that got the crowd really hype, then mellowed out the night with a cool acoustic set. Guests of #RapRocks got in for free and also got free drinks and pizza! One of the better #RapRocks outside of NYC!

On a hot and muggy Thursday night a small intimate crowd gathered in the indie venue Velvet Lounge to enjoy the #RapRocks concert. Some were first timers, others were veterans. This time we had White House Band, A Cool Stick, Navi and the whole damned Delegation, and Shyvonne rock the house. First up was show opener Ralphy Boy, who brought it with old school rymes and a slick flow. Then up next was Shyvonne, who brought the party vibe with her hits “MindReader” and “DAMN!”. Navi was up next, and really brought the energy an MC with a live band brings. He reminded us of an early Aesop Rock. Next up was the White House Band, using his fog/light show/guitar/rapping combination to the max. The crowd was impressed by David E Beats’ showmanship and showed it in the applause. Last but not least, A Cool Stick was up next and closed out the show with an amazing freestyle and chill acoustic set, minus a bassiest.
Overall, the concert was a success, and the people of DC are clamoring for more!

This event was organized by Rising Soul Productions. The event was created for artists and musicians to come out and share their original material, jam with each other, and network to cultivate artistic collaborations. Songwriter Sessions fills a gap in the New York City music scene by providing an authentic space for unsigned and independent songwriting artists and musicians of any genre to meet other like-minded individuals, generate support systems and expand their fan base. The Songwriter Sessions series aims to mix styles to encourage uniting different music scenes and people.
