Biography

Writers Block, the Grammy nominated production and writing team of Clemm Rishad and Will Jordan are especially noted for their contribution to Nicki Minaj’s single “Fly” featuring Rihanna. The single earned them an American Music Award as well as a Grammy nod. The monumental success of the single afforded them a publishing deal with Universal Music and led to a partnership with Beluga Heights, the production home of Super Producer JR Rotem. They have since written for Jason Derulo, and British Virgin Islands phenom Iyaz.

The Tacoma, Washington wordsmiths are artists in their own right as well and they have recently embarked on a national tour to share their music.

Will Jordan is a vocalist, and provides most of the production for the team. His self produced EP In Case it Rains is a collection of his work recently released on iTunes. Thriving to expand upon the groundwork of other Northwest greats like Quincy Jones, Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix, Will crosses all musical boundaries. Clemm Rishad has a distinctive sound and flow that pulls from west and east coast greats. Hello ladies everyone this is Maria Make Up Artist and CEO of The Color Box by Maria.

I think that everyone has a favorite part of their face that they like to “highlight and play up” For me the EYES! There is a famous expression that says “The eyes are the windows to the soul” So when one is looking into your eyes searching your soul your eyes should look their best.

One of my favorite eye shadows lines are from Inglot Cosmetics. This is a company founded by a chemist working in a pharmaceutical company who created high quality products with fair and reasonable prices. As I love all of Inglot products, I am so drawn to the eye shadows. I find Inglot eye shadows colors to be vast, vibrant, true to color and highly pigmented.

My favorite aspect of Inglot shadows is the capability of mix and match or what the call “The Freedom System” Inglot gives you the capacity to mix and match your shadows and other products in a pallet just to your liking. The eye pallets can be detailed from 10, 5, 4, and 2 square size and 10, 5 and 3 round sizes. I brought three freedom pallets in 4 square formats. In my pallet I choose three eyes colors and one blush. This combination works well for me. The packaging style for Inglot products are fantastic. The top cover is designed to slide and the entire case is magnetic. Your cover is completely secure and will not slide off until you take it off. All of Inglot pallets are stackable. Stackable is a make up artist love or I can just slip one in my purse with easy!

If you are a professional or an everyday user of make up purchasing items can be expensive. Many other product lines charge you for the case and the product. THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH INGLOT! YEA! I did a cartwheel in the store. The cost of a 4 system palette with three eyes shadows and a blush was 39.00 plus tax! This is an excellent price so now you know why I walked out of the Broadway and 48^th street store in Manhattan with three 4 systems pallets, face primer, lipstick and lip gloss!

See below my picture of my favorite eye palette. This is my collection of purple eye shadows and fuchsia blush. I love these color combinations. This pallet is so multi functional that I create a soft look during the day and then change this to a smokey eye look for the evening!

Check out INGLOT! My favorite store is the Broadway and 48^th street and the staff is wonderful. They are open Mon- Sat until 11:00PM. Go out and play in the Inglot store and have fun with color!

DO NOT forget these 14 points when structuring a Deal!

I have been asked by more than one venture the question, what are the points that I need to consider whenever I put together a deal?

This is obviously a very broad question as it can pertain to anything, but I’m assuming that some of the characteristics are that it is some exchange of financial value between two parties where the goal is to create a win-win situation. Although I put the general terms together, I will ultimately utilize an attorney for formality of the deal and to review anything that I may have missed.

Here are the 14 points not to forget:

Use plain language. More often that not I see deals that are filled with legalese and are impossible to really understand by non-legal personnel. If you don’t understand the flow of the document, don’t add it in
Understand what the other party is aiming for. If you look at it purely from your perspective, and don’t understand the drivers of the other entity, then you are setting yourself up for a drawn out and high probability of failure situation. Simply by understanding the context of their situation you can set yourself up for success. Make sure you don’t go through this process limiting it based upon your situation.
1. Key questions would be: What does a win look like for the other party? What would be a above and beyond success for that party and what would be below their expectations?
Understand your deal limitations. Obviously you need to clearly understand your situation and your cost benefit analysis so that you can go into the deal with a solid understanding of what is a huge success for yourself.
1. Key Questions: What is my threshold of what I’m willing to give up? What is a huge success for me in the terms?
Lock down rights and security. No matter what you do, you want to make sure that in the process that you protect your intellectual property, have non-disclosure agreements in place, if possible non-circumvents. The key here is to just make sure that both parties feel comfortable doing business with each other and not feel threatened that the value that is being put together is not lost.
1. Key Questions: What do both parties need to protect to feel secure in understanding and completing the deal? What should I not show the other party that may compromise my position?
For Leads or Sales consider a Modified Lehman Formula. If you have a deal that is related to bringing in sales and you do want to have a perpetual compensation you can use some version of a Lehman Formula that incentives the person upfront as they are bringing in revenue for you, then caps it off on an ongoing basis.
Balance the risks to your reputation. When entering any deal you are putting your personal and corporate reputation on the line. Take into consideration what the impact of doing the deal will do to your brand.
White Label. An effective way of generating cashflow without having to do all the sales and marketing effort of a deal is being able to license out your value, but having someone elses name on the product or services. The key though is that they are not able to potentially steal that value at a future point in time, and that you have the ability to continuously increase the value of the offering as time goes forward, otherwise they will considering moving away from you or potentially competing against. That is why pricing structure is also very key, such that it is competitive over the long term.
Hand-off Sales. You may be putting an agreement together that enables a company that is getting a lot of leads for you or vice-versa to then hand off the sales. In these scenarios you need to understand the effort and value of the relationship. Usually a straight commission is sufficient in order to turn over the quality leads that are being generated. The key is how much effort does it take to make the referral.
Lead Generation vs. Closing. In many industries there is a significant difference and effort that is taken for bringing leads to the table versus the actual closing process. Usually there is a finders fee that is lower than a Third Party Marketer who is doing all the work to actually close the deal. They should be compensated significantly different.
Wholly Owned or Partially Owned Subsidiary. Certain deals may have an advantage in relation to who owns what entity. If the brand is very strong and they want to lend that credibility to another company there may be consideration of a very small purchase of stock which would allow for the statement of being Partially owned by the higher quality or more visible brand. Being wholly owned has the same effect, but it does obviously require a merger or an acquisition to occur. Many Berkshire Hathaway companies utilize this position as an advantage.
In Advance vs. Arrears. Payment terms can always be a sticky point based upon who has the advantage and who is taking on the risk. The key is to minimize any cashflow disconnects from when the sale is made and when the payouts are being made. Each industry is different, but product based industries may have a disconnect with larger wholesale relationships, therefore payment in advance or arrears is extremely important to understand.
Due Diligence. No matter who it is that you are doing business with, you need to absolutely hire independant parties to complete due diligence on the other party such that there are no unnecessary risks that are taken or there are issues that are uncovered in the future that can put the entire relationship in jeopardy. Background checks and forensic accounting specialists may be something to consider.
Leverage Points. More important than most items, understanding what is in it for me and for the other party is probably the most important factor in determining the amount of value that you can provide for the other entity. Having positioned and create an atmosphere of advantage is critical for lasting value.
Environment Open for Negotiation. Never create a situation where you can not walk out the door and have more time to think and make a decision. Putting yourself into a precarious time position is asking for long term damage if you were to make a decision under the gun.

Karine Ella better known under the name Kella was born on 1 May 1984 in the sunny Cote d’Ivoire in West Africa.

It is Ivorian by his father, mixed (French, Mali, Benin, Brazil …) through his mother. She grew up in Cocody, eldest of two brothers and a sister in an artistic atmosphere, the whole family making music.

It is influenced by early hip-hop, pop, African rhythms and great lyricists of French music.

Tommy boy from an early age, she loved playing football, writing poetry and was even judo champion Ivorian.

Football was finally traded for basketball (she played the youngest national team basketball Ivory Coast), and began rapping with Zone 66, and his high school friends and Pepeto Mastro.

The young Ivorian honed his style and flow with Claudi (former singer of kiddims) and Fabio, the FFale Mc-Ra (The squall).

In 2000, Kella meeting Jx, beatmaker and then begins to rap on the original compositions which leads to several appearances on radio Fm Cocody, performing in the school holidays, and appearances in the sounds Systems. Predisposed to the literature (L series), however, she heads toward economics at the insistence of his father.

In 2010, after a street tape (the means at hand), and after having obtained his MA in Economics, she devoted herself to the release of his first solo project. It is then discovered by Dway Productions Double N became ukase. She released her first mixtape The Next Generation, which appear the MC hits and never leave me, the single Touch the Sky will remain number one on HHQC HIPHOPFRANCO and for many weeks.

She will encounter many artists of the Montreal scene (Monk Street, Daron, Gregson, The Diaspora, Deetah and more) and Ivorian (Nash, 50 Garba, Rageman, Kanibal, Karter Christ to name a few).

Meanwhile, she joined the group Dope Skwad Ent, composed of talented rappers and beatmakers in France, Ivory Coast, Canada and the United States.

After a tense and painful from November to May 2010 because of civil war in Ivory Coast where her parents and her younger brother, Kella released his mixtape The Changing flight. 2 with very noticed interests: Saye, Karma Atchykah, Dirty Taz, CL Easy, Soke, Mr Kiern, Kasper Quebec, Driver, Gued’1, Mastro de France and MC Kanibal, Vally of Ivory Coast.
