Tunde says : “It’s an anthem for the Other, with “brown” being a metaphor for anyone who has been marginalized. It features cameos from Detroiters who are doing amazing activism in the city, from starting revolutionay charter schools based on social justice (Grace Boggs Educational Center, Detroit Future Youth Network) principles to running queer/trans-empowering bike shops (Fender Bender). It’s the first single from my upcoming EP, “The Second Transgression.”
I premiered it to celebrate having reached a fundraising goal to help pay for my next EP, which will be released in December 2012 and features a track with Flobots frontman Johnny 5.”
