Lerix

Lerix is a Brooklyn based emcee whose recording style is progressive and reminiscent of the “Golden era”. His infatuation with Hip Hop started at the age of 14 thru his older cousin Hank Love, who was the co-host of 105.9’s “Hank love and Half-Pint show.” Soon enough, Lerix started writing songs, and joined ciphers in high school with his friends in the lunch room. Lerix music is often compared to Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul etc.
In 2009, Lerix gained the opportunity to meet with record A&R’s. The meetings didn’t lead to a deal but helped Lerix realized he wouldn’t comprise his persona to either be more “street or only making party music. During the past year Lerix gained new perspectives on life and recorded more music. He released “It’s a (W)Rap…Again! “ in July 2010 and released his debut EP “New Heights” with Shane Eli in November 2010.

“This Brooklyn native flips convoluted, complex metaphors intertwined with audacious punchlines effortlessly over the beat….Hip-Hop needs more new comers like Lerix to revive it before it’s lost on the gimmicks.” -Trey Love- The Coolest Out

“He’s catching some wind out in Brooklyn and I think this dude has a chance to get even bigger”_Hip Hop Zoo

I decided to listen to Don’t Quit Your Day Job and I must admit that Lerix is very talented. His mixtape (located below) gets the Praverb.net stamp of approval_ Praverb

I like the lyricism that Lerix is putting down”- Hip Hop Ruckus

“Lerix brings a unique sound and artistic verses.”_Fab 4 Music

“The song is quite an inspiration for the average homie who is on his grind trying to make it happen”_Brumskine

“What I found was some decent hip hop” _ Meaty Sauce

We should respect how the way new hip hop is slowly evolving back into an art form and not that jibberish we’re used to._Turntable Tendencies

“The beats have the old school feel, while giving it that new flavor. Also, Lerix’s flow is perfect over those beats. “_ Oh So Fresh Music

“Lerix is bar for bar above many and has the ability to adjust his flow so it rides perfectly with any and every beat. This album is very well put together. It has such a smooth transition from track to track. He doesn’t simply talk about the same thing and you can tell he puts thought into his lyrics and concepts.”_ 7th Boro

“Lerix put together a solid EP with New Heights. It is nice too see a rapper get away from the mainstream and rap with purpose, with a message in each song. He is not on their levels quite yet, but Lerix has a style reminiscent of J. Cole and CyHi da Prince. The young rapper is off to a good start, but certainly there’s room for improvement.”_Live Music Guide

“ There are always a couple talented rappers that slip under the radar of big hip-hop media, such as Brooklyn-native Lerix[..] Clever lyrics and engaging production make this an enjoyable listen”._ Buzzle Goose

“Brooklyn rap artist Lerix is taking steps up with his latest “New Heights”. “_College DJ

“ Overall this album or EP is good for a newcomer. Its alot better than most newcomers put out. Lerix has alot of potential and he has some gems on this CD. He seems to have a good ear for beat and working with BKS is always a plus.” _Satchford

“ Homeboy has some bars and he is creative”_ Erica Vain
“Overall, the production is some of the best work I’ve seen from a new-ish rap artist. It ranges from solid to truly, legitimately catchy – and we all know how hard that is to find.”_Audio Cred

“The production is what shines here giving Lerix the perfect canvas to create this positive music”_ Audio Leak

“Lerix has a clean sharp delivery, witty rhymes, and a slightly cocky persona. “_ Miracle Leroy, Examiner

New Heights isn’t perfect, but no EP ever is. The mixing is great and overall it is well produced. Lerix has been in this game since he could sing, and he will continue to grow as both a writer and a rapper. Overall, New Heights gets a strong 4/5 for Lerix’s ability to avoid gimmicks and for his abilities as a lyricist._Jon Richards, The Music Cycle

“Now he has rhyming skills as do most of the guys who send me things but he has slightly more charisma and character in his flows. He also is very clear and manages to avoid being overly convoluted and trying to stuff too much into one song at a time.”_ Yet Another Hip Hop Blog

“Lerix definitely has skill. His ability to flow and deliver sharp lyrics is rare nowadays for up and coming emcees. Also his beat selection is impressive as well. Make sure you check out this undeniable banger “Hustle Hard”.”_ Ike Reese Jazz Blogetery

“This right here, this shit right here is why I love music. This is the first time I’ve heard this Lerix guy and shit, kid is sick. You should cop his mixtape as well, havent taken a listen but im sure its pretty good.”_ The Life Like

“The production here is super sick. It features: a cool violin, a low key bass, and a chill/smooth vibe. The hook is on point as well. Lerix has an ill delivery and the lyrics are kind of slick. The verses are fire too. Lerix continues his swagger filled delivery and his rhymes are well put together and cleverr”._The Breezy Effect

“Here is something new from the project which he just slid over. Not bad at all, I can’t judge just yet, got to see what else this youngster has up his sleeve.”_ The Street Treatment

“On the independent level, Lerix takes pride in staying legit. Doesn’t seems to go too commercial but seems his music has a good balance.”_ Skelwn
