Life In The PR Lane: My evaluation of 2011
While everyone was out celebrating on NYE, I stayed at home reflecting on the crazy year I had and how much I AM PR Agency is growing at a fast pace.
This was definitely a dream come true, and I can’t believe how fast we grew this year and all the things we accomplished! At the same time, not every day is a happy day when you run a PR agency. I just laid off an employee and doing so bugged me out for a few days. I kept wondering if it was because of a lack of proper management or if it just wasn’t a match?
This situation made me realize that no matter how successful you get, you always need to be prepared for the worse to happen. I ended up having to catch up on a lot of the work that the employee didn’t complete. Boy it was a long night! In all honesty, it can be really tough at times to build a strong team, but I’m now realizing how much having the “right” people vs “people” is detrimental to the success of your company.
